New: Photoshop For iPad

Sometimes, it’s much easier to edit and create images on your iPad instead of sat at your desktop or laptop, particularly if you’re on the go.  If you’re used to editing on your iPad then you might soon be able to use one of the most professional tools you can- Adobe’s Photoshop!

According to an insider with knowledge of Adobe’s plans, they aim to bring the full version of Photoshop to the iPad relatively soon.

The move is a response to multiple requests from Adobe users that want more tools available to allow them to edit on the go instead of having to wait until they’re at a desktop or laptop screen.  Adobe is hoping to entice new users with new software, they did this recently with the release of their all-in-one video producing ‘Project Rush,’ which was gearing towards people who shoot videos on their mobile

iPad sales have slowed down a lot in the past few years, yet they are still very popular among people in the creative sector such as photographers who find the screen sizes easier to handle when editing on-the-go instead of the small iPhone screens.

Adobe haven’t confirmed exactly when they will be releasing Photoshop for iPad, however they are eager to get it running as soon as possible.  They have said there is “a lot required to take a product as sophisticated and powerful as Photoshop and make that work on a modern device like the iPad.”  They want to bring all their products up-to-date with the modern technology.

From this information, it seems that the versions of Photoshop available in the future will resemble the current process of Lightroom CC as they can can function across multiple platforms, allowing users to continue the same edits when they change devices and make adjustments on-the-go.  The aim for the future is that all of Adobe’s products will work this way with the hope that a similar version of Illustrator will be available in the future.

The plan to actually release Photoshop will hopefully be in 2018, however technological developments could lengthen this process.
