Instagram have just introduced a new feature which lets your followers ask you a question on your story which you can then post their answers whilst keeping them anonymous! This is a way to start new conversations and engage with your followers and other accounts when you don’t have any new content to share.
This feature is there as a new way to interact with other users similar to the use of the slider poll Instagram introduced recently and the poll feature they introduced last year. This is great as users can type out a more specific answer which will help you to engage better with them and learn more about your following and the Instagram community!
Follow our simple guide so you can get using it as soon as possible!
Firstly make sure you have the most up to date version of Instagram on your device.
Secondly go to either your own Instagram page or your feed and click the icon to add a new story.
Either take a picture or insert a piece of media you already have on your phone as a background.
From there select the ‘stickers’ icon at the top of the screen.
Here you will see all the stickers available for you to add on to your Instagram story.
It will insert a text box which says ‘Ask me a question’, you can leave this as it is a edit and change it to suit how you want to interact with other users. Simply tap on the text and you can change it.
You can also change the colour of the text box the same way you would with normal text on an Instagram story, by selecting from the colour chart above the keyboard.
Any responses you will see in the same area where you usually view who has seen your story. There you will see a ‘Responses’ section as soon as someone has interacted with the post.
By clicking on the response of a user you can then choose to ‘share response’ and post as a new story which you can edit just like you would any other Instagram story, by adding text, a new image, gifs etc.
Any response you share publicly to your story will keep the account name of the person confidential, only you will know who gave the response.
